A look from the past! Rachael demonstrating in 2000

Rachael demonstrating in the year 2000.

This picture was taken when I was with the Zionist Book Club headed by David Perkins. We were out demonstrating in the year 2000against Ehud Barak's government.  We made a lot of noise during his weekly cabinet meeting. Every week we were in the Rose Garden, saying Psalms, listening to speeches and making noise.  People say that demonstrations don't have an effect, but I think that we annoyed Barak.  His government didn't last long and we made our voice heard.

In today's situation, if you don't make your voice heard, then you are one of the ones who agree with the kidnapping of children who were coming home from school to become political pawns.  Is that right?  Is it ethical? Would an Arab woman want her son to be abducted?  I would venture to say no. As Abbas says " We are human too."

Start to act like it, residents of Ramallah.   Enter the human race and protest! Show the world that you don't agree! Because if you stay silent, then you actually do agree with kidnapping.  If you complain that  you can't get to your jobs and that there are roadblocks, and security checks, know that we do this for a reason.  We don't want to get blown up.  We are protecting ourselves against violence that is directed against Israeli civilians by Arab terrorists.   Show the world that you don't agree with terrorism.  That you are part of the civilized human race.

It is not a lot but if we can work together and get 1,000,000 signatures it might make a difference
