Jerusalem Scenes

I happened to be in Tel Aviv two weeks ago, and I found these pictures waiting for me.  Tel Aviv is not all tall buildings, glass and metal.  The first picture is of the Yakon River, well more like a creek. and the second shows blue sky, and trees. I was in the Old City to do a haircut this week, and I had a big surprise as I was walking in!  There were lights and music coming from almost everyplace!  The municipality of Jerusalem is celebrating as we are cleaning for Pesach with music! I don't know if the Rabbis of the Old City really agree with this . . . It was a diversion from the scrubbing and scouring. Have a Chag Ksher and most importantly, Sameach! If you remember the campaign a long time ago about the Jerusalem Lions that were painted by different artists and then sold off, so I am finding them in interesting places. This one looks dressed up for a formal affair! It looks as if he's been played with and has paint missing though. . . It has taken a whole week for the city to clean up after the election petek dump.  Even if you are happy with the results of the elections, the amount of paper that gets wasted is such a Shanda!  Did seeing the names of the parties on the ground influence you about which party to vote for?  I made my decision weeks before.  It should be from a sense of public duty that people always clean up their trash, and not only during elections.
